WhatsApp Latest Update provides Text Formatting, Improved file sharing, and More

Well, the email application owned Facebook has now received a new set of features as part of the Android version 2.12.535. Meanwhile, the company also rolled out an updated version of WhatsApp for iPhone, bringing to v2.12.16 release.
The version at the time of writing are not available to download from the company website, but watch as an OTA update to Google Play for beta testers (via Android Police). All you have to do is put the text you see fat as * asterisks * inside while typing and the phrase you need in italics _between underscores_. Recipients can view the text in bold and italics if they are on the same version of the application.
The text formatting is not limited to messages, but reached notification alerts as well. Users with the new version of WhatsApp will see the name of the sender in bold in the drop-down notification.
